Honda Odyssey Tops Parenting Magazine's List for "Smartest Family Cars of 2012"

OK, everyone knows that the 2012 Honda Odyssey is a family-friendly vehicle. It is a minivan, after all. Despite this fact, however, it's still nice to see the vehicle gather a few awards for its kid and parent-friendly attitude. In a recent list of the "Smartest Family Cars"-which centers not only around cargo room and capacity, but technology as well- Parenting magazine chose the Honda Odyssey Touring Elite as one of its top picks.
As the Michael Accavitti, Vice President of Marking Operations for Honda explains, "The Odyssey was conceived as the ultimate family vehicle, and the Odyssey Touring Elite takes that concept to an unprecedented new level. Being listed among the 'Smartest Family Cars' pays tribute to the Honda R&D team in Ohio and manufacturing team in Alabama responsible for designing and building the best minivan on the road."1 Some of the features highlighted by the magazine are the Odyssey's Blind Spot information System (which detects vehicles stationed in a driver's pesky "blind spot") and its Honda DVD Rear Entertainment System (which features a 16.2-inch Ultrawide display with a split-screen monitor that can play two different movies at the same time. The new Odyssey also features three rows, holds up to eight passengers, and achieves 19 mpg city/28 mpg highway.
